How Our Invisalign Process Works

During our consultation, our dental team will determine if Invisalign treatment is right for you. Those with severe misalignment may not be eligible for Invisalign.

If it’s determined that Invisalign treatment will work for you, we’ll set up your custom treatment plan and take impressions and x-rays that will be used to create your various clear aligners. Every 2 weeks you will move onto a new set of trays and every 6 weeks, you’ll visit our team to ensure you’re on track with your treatment.

The Benefits of Invisalign

Patients consistently tell us they prefer Invisalign over traditional braces: it’s more comfortable, far less visible, and removable for eating, brushing, and flossing. There are no food restrictions, teeth are easier to keep clean during treatment, and aligners cause less irritation to cheeks and gums than fixed braces.

Invisalign FAQs

What is Invisalign treatment?

Invisalign Treatment involves wearing a series of transparent, removable aligners that straightens your teeth over time. There are no wires, brackets, or limitations that come with metal braces. Since it is virtually invisible, Invisalign allows you to comfortably and discretely straighten your teeth and improve your smile.

How does Invisalign work?

Our dentists at Sekhon Family Dentistry will create a customised digital plan to straighten your teeth. Your Invisalign clear aligners are then designed to apply the right amount of  pressure to the right location over time. Our dentists will monitor your progress along the way and make changes according to your plan and progress to make sure your aligners fit properly.

What's the difference between Invisalign and traditional braces?

Traditional braces use fixed metal brackets and wires that stay on your teeth for the full treatment, while Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners. Invisalign is less visible, more comfortable day-to-day, and doesn’t restrict what you can eat since you take the aligners out to eat and drink. Traditional braces are sometimes still the better option for more severe bite or alignment issues.

Is Invisalign treatment right for me?

Invisalign treatment is a great option for adults and teenagers looking for a virtually invisible way to straighten their teeth. Invisalign treatment can be used to resolve nearly all bite issues and other dental problems that could benefit form teeth straightening. The perk of Invisalign over other treatment option is comfort and near invisibility without interfering in your daily functioning.

What is the Invisalign treatment process?

The Invisalign treatment process starts with a consultation with our Invisalign experts at Sekhon Family Dental. Your custom aligners will be made after our dentist examines your teeth and create a detailed personalised digital treatment plan that shows how your smile will change over time. you should wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day and switch to a new pair every 1 to 2 weeks. According to your treatment plan, each pair of aligners will gradually and gently move your teeth into position, giving you a stunning new smile.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Invisalign aligners do not cause pain and most patients hardly even notice the discomfort that quickly disappears over time. While the gentle continuous force used by Invisalign treatment moves your teeth, some people do experience brief discomfort during the first few days of using a new set of aligners. Some wearers have described it as pressure and it’s a sign that your Invisalign aligners are doing their job and gibing you a better smile.

When you insert a new set of aligners, your teeth may feel a little sensitive for one or two days. This just indicates that Invisalign is effective, and your teeth are realigning. Mild discomfort disappears rapidly.

Please contact your dentist if you have any concerns or experience continued discomfort. Contact Sehkon Family Dental today to learn more about Invisalign treatment!

Can I eat normally with Invisalign?

Yes, Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can eat all your favourite foods. However, aligners should always be removed before eating or drinking anything other than water to avoid damage or staining.
